Sizing the BRAC System
Residential Systems

Residential Systems are sized based on the number of people that occupy the home but generally should be sized based on how many people the house was designed for. A good rule of thumb in determining this is as follows:-

                   Master Bedroom                   -     2 people
Each additional bedroom    -     1 person each

Example  -
A four (4) bedroom two (2) bath home would be sized as 5 people

Models are sized as follows

        RGW-150  -  3 people,     RGW-250  -  6 people,    RGW-350  -  9 people,  RGW-450  -  12 people, LB-300 (Low Boy) - 7 to 8 People

In the above example we would select the RGW-250 and if a washing machine is to be attached would recommend the next size up which is an RGW-350.

Commercial

Sizing commercial systems is much more detailed and complex than residential systems so we provide a
Commercial Questionnaire to collect the information we need to model the environment where the system would be installed.

Some key elements to be provided include the following:-

Number of occupants of the building
Number of showers, sinks, toilets, urinals, washing machines etc
Water usage for each element of the system -
Gallons Per Minute ( GPM) for the shower heads
Gallons per flush for the toilet (also whether single or dual flush) or urinal, tank or flush valve
How many gallons does the washing machine use per load
The number of floors in the building will determine the size of pumps and pressure tanks needed to maintain pressure and the required
                            volume of water.
If the system will be used to irrigate then the square footage of the area to be irrigated is needed and if being combined with a BRAC
Rainwater Harvesting System (RWH) we will need to know the roof area to determine how many gallons of water can be collected

Rainwater Harvesting
Rainwater harvesting is not new. It has been used around the world for thousands of years. Today, we hear the term more and more, but not in terms of providing potable water for drinking, but as a way to provide an irrigation source for landscaping. Did you know that a roof area of only 2,000 square feet can provide approximately 1200 gallons of water during a one-inch rainfall.

The most basic form of rainwater harvesting is simply collecting the water and distributing it immediately to the plants. It's no surprise this method is referred to as a "simple" system. Brac Systems has taken a different approach and developed the RWH Series Rainwater Harvesting Systems that have been professionally engineered to be fully automated and 100% safe.

Sizes Available  -  898, 1108, 1320 and 1742 Gallons

Features of the Brac System
The Brac Systems line of Rainwater Harvesting Systems have been designed and constructed using the highest quality components to create a reliable system that will provide many years of trouble free use.

The sophisticated rainwater system is equipped with a disinfection process that will effectively eliminate all microbiological contamination of the rainwater for an infinite period while waiting for the "free" water to be used. Other leading rainwater harvesting systems do not have disinfection treatments like the Brac Systems and therefore are susceptible to microbiological contamination.

The large capacity storage tanks are made from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE) and are one of the most resistant on the market today. The seamless design makes it air and water tight eliminating the risk of groundwater infiltration.

Brac Systems RWH Systems have varying sized large storage tanks buried in the ground. The advantages to having the tanks buried include:

- valuable space above ground is not lost
- no unsightly plastic tanks that will breakdown with time
- fully maximize the potential rainfall by having a large storage capacity
- water is stored in a dark, cool condition reducing the chances of contamination
